GCCC Oceanway Path Construction

GCCC, 2022

The Gold Coast Oceanway is a 36 kilometre network of shared cycle and pedestrian pathways along the coastline areas from the New South Wales border to the Gold Coast Seaway. The Oceanway provides access to our beautiful beaches as well as offering sustainable travel options for residents and tourists along the city’s iconic coastline. TKR Plant Hire played a crucial role in supporting this initiatives by supplying a fleet of GPS-equipped excavators, graders with Trimble GPS systems, water moxys, and both wet and dry hire services. Our equipment, including Topcon tilt sensors, mud, and GP buckets, was used to ensure precision in earthworks and sand replenishment. This project is part of an investment by the City to extend the network of shared cycle and pedestrian pathways to create a better connected Gold Coast.

BMD Gold Coast Racecourse

BMD, 2024

The Gold Coast Turf Club Redevelopment was a significant project aimed at transforming the facility into a world-class racing venue, ensuring future growth for the local racing industry. The redevelopment includes the construction of an all-weather synthetic track, upgrades to the B Grass track, and the refurbishment of the Course Proper. TKR Plant Hire supported this project with a fleet of GPS-enabled excavators equipped with mud buckets, providing wet hire services throughout the construction phase. These efforts contributed to the creation of 328 jobs and a projected economic boost of over $100 million. This strategic investment not only enhances the club’s infrastructure but also strengthens the region’s standing as a premier equine hub.

Reedy Creek, QLD

Leighton, 2012

As part of Australian Pacific Natural Gas (APLNG) expansion of their natural gas assets within the Surat Basin, TKR were engaged through Leighton Contractors to provide both wet hire and dry hire solutions for bulk and detailed earthworks operations. The bulk earthworks consisted a fleet of 637G scrapers, D10T, 825H, 16M and 2 x 40KL ADT water trucks.

The bulk earthworks fleet was closely followed by the TKR team of detailed earthworks crew completing drainage, roadways and footings for structures.

Logan Enhancement Project

CPB Contractors, 2017

Queensland’s $512 million Logan Enhancement Project includes upgrading parts of the Logan and Gateway Extension motorways, improving key congestion hot spots (Mt Lindesay Highway/Beaudesert Road interchange and the Wembley Road/Logan Motorway interchange) and constructing new south-facing ramps at Compton Road. Specialist services included detailed rock saw cutting for bridge footing in rock reducing the requirement for concrete formwork as well as bulk rock excavation utilising 50t excavators and Atlas Copco hydraulic rock breaker. TKR has also supported the project on programmed weekend shutdown works which run 48hrs straight providing additional man power, equipment and logistics for these critical works.

Kingsford Smith Drive Upgrade, Brisbane

Lendlease, 2016

The Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade involves the road widening from four to six lanes between from Eagle Farm to Hamilton. Recognised for the ability to provide and in some cases engineer diverse range of machinery and attachments, TKR Plant Hire supplied a variety of machines to both earthworks, marine and structures components of the project. Early engagement of TKR’s service providing machines from 1.8T Excavators to 50T long reach barge mounted excavators. Specialist attachments included – underwater hydraulic rock breakers, under water hydraulic headers/pineapple profiler attachment with GPS, mud probe, gabion basket frames with power tilt hitches and custom TOPCON GPS positioning system to ensure accurate alignment of baskets over water.

Wulkaraka, QLD Rail

Laing Orourke, 2016

The upgrade of the QLD Rail Stabling yard including new road, carpark, drainage and detailed earthworks at the QR Wulkarak rail depot. TKR Plant Hire provided services based on a wet hire arrangement working with pavements, structures, bulk earthworks and drainage crews.

Gateway Upgrade North Stage 2, Brisbane

Lendlease, 2016

The upgrade of the Gateway Motorway between Nudgee and Deagon from four to six lanes including various upgrades of bridges, interchanges and merges, with capacity for future expansion to eight lanes. TKR Plant Hire provided services based on a wet hire arrangement working with structures, bulk earthworks and drainage crews suppling.

Residential / Subdivision

TKR is also a major supplier to the QLD South East subdivision market. Providing services both on wet and dry hire solutions. Some of the smaller projects consisting of only 20 lots all the way up to bulk earthworks, detailed drainage and pavement preparation on 1,000 lot subdivisions.
